Many of you have inquired about the local use of Investigational COVID-19 Convalescent Plasma (CCP) for patients.

We Are Blood (WrB), established in 1951 by the Travis County Medical Society, is the sole provider and protector of our blood supply in Travis and 10 surrounding counties.

WrB has been working tirelessly to stand up a compliant CCP program for our community, and is now able to collect CCP from qualified recovered COVID-19 individuals.

While convalescent plasma has not yet been shown to be effective for COVID-19, given the public health emergency that the expanding COVID-19 outbreak presents, the FDA is facilitating access to COVID-19 convalescent plasma for use in patients with serious or immediately life-threatening COVID-19 infections.

Potential CCP donors may submit an inquiry regarding eligibility at https://weareblood.org/convalescent-plasma. Please share this information with any local recovered COVID-19 patients that may be interested and eligible to donate.
