Prepare Your Office for Drought Conditions

Critical drought conditions have been predicted to continue for months, which may have an impact on already stressed water and power systems. DSHS encourages hospital and healthcare facilities to prepare by having an emergency water supply (potable, non-potable, bottled water, bulk water, etc.) plan and emergency back-up AC/chiller system.

Contact your Healthcare Preparedness Coordinator for any healthcare planning assistance needs by contacting the On-Call Duty Officer at 512-926-6184, option 9 or via email.

If you are interested in participating in the healthcare coalition, contact Bethany Shaw.

Craving a Summer Road Trip?

We Are Blood is currently looking for Transportation Specialist volunteers! Volunteers come to the 4300 N. Lamar Blvd. Donor Center, pick up one of the We Are Blood vehicles, and perform scheduled pickups of blood from mobile blood drives and satellite donation sites, delivering them back to the lab at our North Lamar location for processing and testing.

Volunteering to transport blood is an excellent way to make an impact in our community. And, since mobile blood drives happen throughout our 10-county region, it's also a great way to see our beautiful Central Texas countryside.

Dell Medical School Update

Meet the Class of 2026: Dell Med’s newest class of medical students are united by a shared goal: health transformation to benefit all. They bring global perspectives to their own experiences seeking quality, compassionate health care, and already count accomplishments like founding health nonprofits and service in the Navy. Meet five students now.

To provide early intervention for young adults struggling to access mental health support in Central Texas, Dell Med’s Center for Youth Mental Health has teamed up with Austin Community College District to launch a new mental health pilot called the Amplify Center.
