                                    Harris County Physician Newsletter %u2022 May 2025 %u2022 www.hcms.org 7 HCMS Women Physicians show support at The Arts of Healing Women in Medicine Fashion ShowWe often hear that medicine is both an art and a science. It%u2019s no wonder that many physicians have various creative outlets outside of practicing medicine but rarely get to showcase those talents.  The Arts of Healing focuses on the artistic side of healing by partnering with various local charities to bring light into the lives of patients suffering from chronic illnesses. Since 2017, The Arts of Healing has been showcasing artistic pieces and performances by physicians and hospitals through various events, raising over $400,000 in proceeds that have been donated to local charities. Most recently, The Arts of Healing has partnered with the Sunshine Kids Foundation %u2013 an organization dedicated to children with cancer. Last month, The Arts of Healing hosted its fifth annual Women in Medicine Fashion Show, showcasing 18 inspirational women in the field of medicine. Harris County Medical Society%u2019s members showed up in force to support the cause. Honorees on the runway included HCMS members Christina Paruthi, MD, and Connie Wang, MD, supported by Harris County Medical Society Women Physician Section%u2019s Past Chair, Victoria Chang, MD, and current Member-at-Large, Dr. Chantal Mendes. It was an empowering night showcasing both beauty and brains on the runway.
