After retiring, he founded the Retired Physicians%u2019 Organization (RPO) in 1995 to connect retired doctors in Houston. For over 16 years, he led the group, organizing speakers, publishing a newsletter, and creating volunteer opportunities. In 2016, he received the RPO Lifetime Achievement Award for his dedication and leadership.
